Clearing the Dungeon

Reading From the Sacred Texts

  • Our favorite RPG spinoffs
    • TheMuff1nMon - I just want to give a shoutout to a recent amazing spin-off: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes - it adapted all the elements you love from Three Houses and applied the warriors format to it. Phenomenal game.
    • Kabosky - I agree on Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Also does Persona count as a spin-off? If so then I'm adding it to the list (and Persona Q)!
    • Sky_Katchr_Gaming - My all time fave RPG spin off is Fortune Street on the Wii. It is like Monopoly but way better. It has characters from Dragon Quest and Super Mario.
    • The_WinterGamer - Pokemon conquest
    • Blaze Knight - I'll give my one spin off shout out to Legend of Mana, it's definitely an under-rated game in the Mana series. (Mana series as a whole is a spin-off since it started life as Final Fantasy Adventures)
    • TPR - How did you like KILLING CHAOS in Stranger of Paradise, Ryan? Ready for the DLC?
    • AwesomeDave1337 - My favorite spin off actually came out this year and it would be Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Killing Chaos was a blast and I had a lot fun with the game.
    • Seth Sturgill @twodollarhero - My favorite RPG spinoff is DEFINITELY Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime! Super unique gameplay loop and absolutely oozing personality - see what I did there? It's among my top three favorite Nintendo DS games of all time, full stop.
    • Cwagmire - I really enjoyed Tokyo Mirage Sessions which is a spin off of SMT and FE. I love the combat system!

Party Up

  • Ngachacha @ngachacha - What are your current hype levels for the upcoming remaster/remake of the Final Fantasy 7 spinoff, Crisis Core Reunion? If it’s a smash hit, do you think Square Enix will remaster the other Final Fantasy 7 spin-offs, Before Crisis or Dirge of Cerberus?
  • Blaze Knight - Started to do shout outs for awesome spin off games, but realized it may cover like every spin off if I did that, so instead I'll just ask a question: If you could pick a console to get all of it's JRPGs remade for modern consoles/PC which would you pick? A caveat remakes on that system wouldn't count. Example NES for Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, ect or N64 for Quest 64, Ogre Battle 64, Paper Mario, or GBA for Mario and Luigi, Pokemon R/S.
